By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Brushes

Square brushes have an incorrect shape, as can be seen from the attachment.
They are not perfect squares, they lack a pixel in the lower right side.

Hi Davide,
thanks for reporting the bug, but I find it rather difficult to catalog this as a major bug. Changed to normal.

brushes in debian

Hi Davide,
I took a look at this bug.
Brushes looks ok here (debian buster, R14.1.0 dev). See attached screenshot (zoomed in picture).

What distro are you using?
Comment 3 Davide 2018-11-07 14:37:17 CST
Hi Michele,
I'm using Devuan GNU/Linux ascii right now, but I didn't have this problem with Devuan Jessie (The previous one).

Anyway, my graphic card is a Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller if can be matter.

Ciao Davide,
there has been no change in KolourPaint recently. I think this issue may be somehow caused by something related to Devuan Ascii, since it was ok in Jessie.
For example, there was a bug (2845) that only showed up in Debian Stretch and was ok with Jessie and again in Buster.
Not sure there is much we can do, unless I can replicate the problem here...
Comment 5 Davide 2019-03-08 17:27:56 CST
I just made a fresh install of devuan 2.0 from scratch, since the last time was installed via apt-get dist-upgrade.
I removed my ~/.trinity folder and tested kolourpaint, the problem still persist.
As I said, this problem was not present in devuan 1.0, in wich I had used a previous version of trinity, 3.5.13.x if I'm not mistaken...

I addressed the the problem in the graphical driver (intel i915), blacklisted it, KolourPaint works well.
I uninstalled the xorg driver and VAAPI driver packages to go for exclusion, only the kernel modules and mesa remains.
$ dpkg -S i915
linux-image-4.9.0-9-amd64: /lib/modules/4.9.0-9-amd64/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/i915
libgl1-mesa-dri:amd64: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i915_dri.so
libgl1-mesa-dri:i386: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/dri/i915_dri.so
So, we can say it's not a KolourPaint related bug.
Anyway, thanks for your time.

Thanks for the info Davide, glad you found the root cause of it :-)
Comment 8 Davide 2019-09-14 11:37:54 CDT
Thanks to you Michele!

For now, I can fix the thing with this config file:
$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection
Just for the sake of clarity, I never used it before and in previous debian releases, where the PC is still the same, this bug were never encountered before.

Thanks again!
