By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Darrell 2010-10-03 19:29:14 CDT
Great little tool for the non-admin types. Needs polish.

Bugs:

The location of /var/log/boot.log is hard-coded. There is no ksystemlogrc configuration option for this log. Changing the location in the Settings dialog box has no effect.

The Settings dialog box uses the term "Cron" to identify the cron log. The Logs menu references the Planned Tasks Log. Makes sense to those who know, but likely is confusing to the non-admin type of users who would use a graphical interface to the logs. For user consistency, change the Logs menu and toolbar button name to "Cron Log."

Configuration settings refer to Postfix Logs. Again, inconsistent. The reference should be to Mail Logs. Likewise for the Logs menu: change the menu and toolbar button name to Mail Logs.

Any configuration setting that allows more than one log is confusing. The logs do not open in individual tabs. Instead they open all in the same tab, sorted by date or some other criteria. Challenging to read. I don't think that is what most users will expect. Listing individual logs in the Settings should imply individual tabs. Or provide an option to merge into one tab when loading or keep in separate tabs.

Enhancements:

Like web browsers, there should be an option allowing the user to open each new log in a new tab. Users must do this manually. That is, open a new blank tab and then open a log from the menu.

Tabs should provide a close button and a pop-up menu for closing. The new and close tab buttons on the toolbar are not exactly intuitive to new users.
