By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Darrell 2010-12-13 10:10:12 CST
I built Trinity kdepim while krb5 was installed. I installed the final packages on a different system.

Akregator refuses to fetch feeds unless krb5 is installed on the same system.

I understand the cause and effect, but seems this is a bug. One workaround is to build kdepim without krb5 installed.

Yet even when built with krb5 present, apps should still run and function when krb5 is not installed or found. The app loses some authentication security, but that would be the same result as when kdepim is compiled without krb5 present during the build.

This is a classic case of "DLL hell", and is the reason that binary package managers exist for Linux. If you don't want to have Kerberos installed on a system, then tdepim must be built without Kerberos support.

Fixing this bug would require writing a plugin for Kerberos on TDE. This is not trivial and would be an enhancement, not a bug fix. :-)

I can't test this right now because first we need to resolve bug report 913.
