By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description magez.magez 2011-01-23 14:13:40 CST
When the "Shutdown" option in KDM menu is chosen, KDM hangs. It not possible to type in login fields anymore or use the menu to choose another option.

Though, It's possible to switch to console (e.g. ctr+alt+fkey) and restart KDM, or shut down the computer, so it's not major issue.

It behaves the same way on Slackware.

Thanks. :)

Notes for future debugging:
This does not occur under Ubuntu.
What is different between Debian and Ubuntu in the shutdown dialog context?
Comment 2 Robert Xu 2011-03-12 20:25:08 CST
This is now a blocker bug for version 3.5.13 of Trinity.

I noticed this when installing with KDE4 already there. I didn't try
with a preinstalled GNOME or LXDE. I fixed it by doing a minimal
install of Debian with no gui, then installing via apt-get."

I installed KDE 3.5.12 tgz (originals from mirror) over a Slackware 13.1 (KDE4 removed, but NOT Qt4) ... all works fine, except KDM logout ... I replaced kdm_greet (binary) with kdm_greet from Kubuntu KDE3/Trinity live DVD and kdm NOT hangs ... the error is in kdm_greet compilation, I think ...

This should have been fixed in GIT commit da658e72, which was released as part of TDE 3.5.13. If the bug persists on 3.5.13 please reopen this bug report.

Thanks for reporting!
