By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

System Settings -> Network Settings gets me a dialog box that says "Your Platform is Not Supported" and wants me to choose an OS. Nothing close to Ubuntu/Natty listed/

Fixed in SVN revision 1259601.

Thanks for reporting!

Has that appeared in the Nightly Builds yet? If it has, it didn't have the desired effect - still get "unsupported platform" with no choice for Natty (any distribution).
Comment 3 Timothy Pearson 2011-10-24 18:26:26 CDT
Probably not--the build farm was down for maintenance and only resumed builds a day or two ago.

I would give it another couple of days to show up in the mirrors, then post back here if the problem persists.

Hello, are the network parameters set by the Trinity Control Center still usable in modern distributions ?

I mean, even if we add all recent distributions names to avoid the warning message, are we sure that the configuration set by this tool is really compliant with the distribution ? I especially think about network-manager, which now replaces the legacy configuration files in RHEL / Fedora ... (but legacy files are still usable, they are "only" deprecated)
Comment 5 Timothy Pearson 2012-01-09 00:45:16 CST
TDE will not support network-manager directly for the foreseeable future due to a (IMHO needlessly) complex, constantly changing API.

Also, I personally refuse to use a distribution that requires network-manager. The "legacy" configuration files are extremely useful for server systems that do not use DHCP, and as long as they are able to be used TDE should support them.

Works for me. What pkgs do I need to remove to make it go away?
Comment 7 Timothy Pearson 2012-01-09 10:58:47 CST
Usually removing network-manager will get rid of the Network Manager stuff. Is this what you wanted to remove, or were you referring to the TDE network configuration module?
Comment 8 Peter Laws 2012-01-09 11:01:12 CST
No, that's it. My experience with NM in the Redhat world is less than pleasing, so I'm happy to remove it. No deps, I'm assuming?

None on the TDE end aside from knetworkmanager. KDE4 or Gnome could have problems though as they have very tight integration with NM AFAIK; just watch the list of removed packages and stop removal if you see anything being removed that you wanted to keep.
