By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Nick Leverton 2011-10-26 19:09:13 CDT
A minor one - akregator now only displays the txt document icon next to all feeds, it used to display the favicon for the site.

Favicons in konqueror history and bookmarks are still OK.

Confirmed in Slackware 13.1. Icons are being downloaded to $HOME/.trinity/cache-$HOSTNAME/favicons, but are not being displayed.

There is at least one other similar issue with akregator in Trinity. Hovering over links in the article pane no longer makes the link appear in the status bar, as it used to.

I guess both of these are related to the separation of akregator into its own library so I'm changing the bug title on that hunch.

There is one upside from the separation though - running Trinity no longer results in X consuming resources and bloating itself into the Gb range of memory. I think the old KDE 3.5.9 akregator apparently had some serious resource leaks, which have been solved by not making these calls to display icons and/or links.

Correction - the last paragraph should say "running akregator no longer results", sorry.

Status bar problem confirmed in Slackware 13.1.

Essentially the code is the same as in 3.5.10 except for the tqt layer. Possibly the problems might be caused by the change to cmake?

I run 3.5.10 full time in Slackware 13.1. Akgregator runs all day in the background in my system tray. I never have seen any resource issues. I'm using the virgin upstream sources and not any modified sources such as with Debian.

Note to whomever tackles this bug report: Please refer to bug report 305, which is closely related to this report.

The status bar problem is fixed with a patch submitted in bug report 752. the patch does not fix the icon problem. :(

Others should confirm, but with the latet GIT (or somewhere in the recent past), I now have favicons in Akregator. Possibly a result of a tqt cleanup?

Status bar text with mouse hover over feed links is again broken. The status bar works (for example "Fetching feeds..."), but nothing shows when the mouse pointer hovers over a feed title.

Icons definitely are okay again and were fixed sometime after 3.5.13 in GIT.

My mistake. I got sidetracked with hovering over the feed descriptions in the Article pane, but that is not supposed to produce anything in the status bar. The original problem was hovering over hyper links in the story pane and that still works.

I'm closing this bug report as resolved. Both the status bar hovering over links and icons again work.

I don't know which code cleanup effort resolved the icon problem, therefore back porting a patch to 3.5.13 is unlikely. :(
