This is under Jaunty, correct?

I'll have to load up a clean VM and see what is going on...maybe the Kubuntu team removed a package or two from the main repositories.

Actually I'm using Intrepid, not Jaunty. If it makes a difference, I have Gnome, Xfce, Openbox and Blackbox installed as desktop environments too.

And yes, I have enabled both the universe and multiverse repositories. Here is the contents of my sources.list:

I read the comment from Michal Bryxi, however his solution doesn't work for me since I have to fix the errors I currently have before I can remove any packages:

$ sudo apt-get remove python-kde3

You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  kde-guidance-kde3: Depends: python-kde3-kde3 but it is not going to be installed

OK, I just got this fixed by removing the broken packages using Synaptic. It didn't work from the command line for some reason unless I was just doing it wrong. Everything seems to be working fine now. I'm happy once again!

I had uploaded a fixed package a few days ago, but had not closed this bug as I was not sure how pervasive the problem was (i.e. I wonder if it exists in other packages as well).

I am closing it for now; if it shows back up feel free to reopen this bug with a new apt-get log attached.
