By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Greg Madden 2011-12-08 20:39:35 CST
After installing desktop-base-trinity the background for the login screen is garbled, looks like a composite of many images. The greeter is visable and works to login.

The 'update-alternative' system contains 'desktop-splash', desktop-grub' and 'desktop-background'

The default background appears to be 'debian-moreblue-orbit'. This is not working.
I did 'update-alternative --config desktop-background' and selected the 'nightly' image and this works, nice nightly background on the login screen.

There is no nightly image as one of the selection options in '/etc/alternatives/desktop-splash', the debian-moreblue-orbit image is used and works. would be nice to have a consistent nightly theme from login to splash.

I dunno if it is related, but since yesterday, after I upgraded Fedora 16 with latest kernel 3.1.6 and nvidia driver 290.10, I now have the garbled background, whereas it was working previously.
Previously I was using kernel 3.1.5 and nvidia 280.13 .

It is possible that this was a same issue, as was resolved in bug 1226?

Login screens seems to be working fine. It is possible this bug was either caused by kernel or video driver or perhaps some temporary code changes in TDE.
I am closing the bug. Please reopen and provide detailed instructions if you still experience this.
