By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

In addition to a paid closed source version, QCAD from RibbonSoft is available in a GPL community edition. This is a decent CAD program for many people and is DXF compliant.

The current stable versions (2.x) are Qt3.

The next version (3.x) of QCAD is moving to Qt4. The next version is in beta and likely will be released soon.

I suspect the community edition will follow with Qt4. At that time I don't know whether the Qt3 version sources will remain easily available.

I think QCAD community version will be a good addition to Trinity. Converting to tqt is not a priority right now (I'll help if instructed how), but grabbing the Qt3 sources now is a good idea.

The file size is about 4.3 MB --- too large to attach to the bugzilla, so here is the direct link:

ftp://anonymous:anonymous@ribbonsoft.com/archives/qcad/qcad-2.0.5.0-1-community.src.tar.gz

Yes, I have a copy of the sources too. :)

I know Trinity has a habit of collecting all KDE3.5 related applications. I
like this because we get great integration and a whole heck load of apps I can
use.

Except QCAD isn't actually KDE related. It's pure Qt3. Where is the interest
for Trinity? Applications using Qt4 can still be used in Trinity.

I don't think we should add it. Cost/Benefit is not pretty.

Agreed. I don't think supporting a CAD program is going to be a good idea; good ones are comparable in size to an entire desktop environment and are significantly more complex due to 3D graphics and such.

Grabbing the tarball is a good idea; running it through a basic TQt conversion might be possible (though I don't have time to do it myself; someone would have to use the scripts in GIT and hack up the build system); supporting/maintaining it is a BAD idea.

Most Linux CAD offerings, frankly, stink. KDE3.5.10 did not stink, thus it was forked. ;-)
