By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Darrell 2012-03-16 16:48:37 CDT
The tdegraphics package provides support for Multimedia Retrieval Markup Language (MRML). The expected front-end search engine is the GNU Image Finding Tool (GIFT).

The GIFT package has not been updated in 7 years. Searching the web reveals that almost nobody packages that tool anymore.

The tdegraphics package provides an option to configure the GIFT in KControl, System Administration. Yet GIFT is unlikely to be found on any modern system. Accessing that KControl module results in an error message.

The BUILD_KMRML option controls building that KControl option. Setting BUILD_KMRML=OFF avoids installing the KControl option but also disables all MRML support.

Options:

1. Find an MRML replacement for GIFT and update the tdegraphics kmrml code for that app.

2. Modify the tdegraphics build options to build MRML support but not install a KControl module.

3. Drop kmrml support from tdegraphics.

In addition to GIFT not being updated for many years, the MRML web site (http://www.mrml.net/index.html) appears to have been stagnant since 2002. There appears to be no support for MRML. Likely then the best option is to drop the entire krml module from tdegraphics.

Consider whether to remove or moving to separata application.

Kmrml is now deprecated in R14.1 series and not build by default (commits ff75de8 and 285b33853).
The actual code will be fully removed in R14.2.0.

kmrml has been removed in R14.2.0-dev (https://mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/gitea/tde/tdegraphics/issues/58)
